don't get acer centrino!!! j has one at the office which i used for some months! we both do not recommend. dell is still the best! and in germany, they have the best after sales service that you can find. plus, it is really good. do u want j's professional opinion with specs that you need? part of his work is to choose which computer to purchase for his office and all the member offices.

tama si AnP. medyo di nga masyadong maganda ang acer. for its price/performance and excellent tech support - dell is still the best. i love the slim "inspiron model 300m or 600m". it would probably be just right for you in terms of the weight and specs.

i carry a dell latitude c640. it's been with me for almost two years already without any problems. it's a great powerful notebook but is a real pain to carry.

make sure to get at least 512MB of RAM and the biggest hard disk you can get. one thing about a notebook is they are so hard and expensive to upgrade so always choose the best machine your money can buy when and if you buy.
