christmas shopping for men
ok. so halloween is over. we’ve just the lantern parade on friday to get over with and on to the most -awaited, most commercialized event of the year!
technically, i’ve started my christmas shopping. a few weeks ago, i bought five english books for jan, and figured, well, he doesn’t have to have all of them all at the same time, right? so i’ve put aside two and decided to place it next month under the tree instead (i hope i find it before christmas somewhere under all these debris i’ve got here, though). so that’s one person down, another to go. ah, men! why is it always so difficult to think of presents for men? the fact that hubby is the least gadget-giddy person i know doesn’t help either. i could get him something like this car gps navigation system, so he’d stop relying on me to read the map while he drives (in effect, it’ll be a gift for both of us. clever, eh?), but at $700 a pop? way off budget! let’s wait for the prices to drop. give it a few more months and surely, like digital cameras, portable navigation systems will be for peanuts… well, value-added peanuts.
so, suggestions? no tech-gadgets, please. and remember, i’m *still* not rolling in money.

Ruth, we bought ours at 200 plus lang but that was january na. Kasi the xmas prices are so expensive. GPS helps a lot lalo na nabawasan ang gyera patani when travelling kasi mahina ako sa map reading( to the point na muntik na kami makarating ng slovenia). Yung simple lang na buy namin, but it POINTED us to the precise direction yung papunta kina Cheh

i agree with you. napakahirap hanapan ng gift ang mga lalake. it’s either they want something that has $$$$$ tags, or they don’t want anything at all. ano ba ang hobbies niya, o kaya weakness? yun na lang ang pagbasehan mo.

I second the opinion that you can by a Navi for under 500 EUR.
Also, I was wondering if you can do me a favor… kinda for Christmas already ;)?
Can you jump over to Jen’s Blog http://heissescheisse.blogspot.com and give her a quick opinion on the green background? Is it cool or toxic? Should it be “softened”? How is it on the eyes for reading?

jing, exactly. we’ve once had a 3-day long cold war because he couldn’t find his way around frankfurt!
des, hay naku, yearly na lang, it’s the same problem. the things i know he’d appreciate the most are just way off budget right now: e.g. a trip home to pinas, hehe…
justice: no way.
rhada: that’s gonna be difficult to wrap and place under the tree
sparky: yes, but that one’s portable, fits in your hand. ah well, we’ll see…

If it’s hard to find presents for men…..then it’s nigh near impossible to buy presents for women!
Perhaps some movies on DVD……or failing that a crate of his favourite beer!

Just remembered it’s shopping time again. haha, my wife stopped nagging me to go with her anymore. I guess, I’m no fun during a shopping spree. Yaya ako ng yaya na umuwi na kami.

hubby and i exchange wish lists. so it is up to me to pick one item from his list and ditto for him. at least there’s still the element of surprise. the list is good up to birthdays, anniversaries or even ordinary days.
