when third is better than second
i woke up yesterday just in time to witness the party in berlin. aahhhh… it’s good to be third. much better than second.
2010 könnt ihr weltmeister sein
and this one deserves to be watched til the end:
54, 74, 90, 2010
klose wins the golden shoe, podolski was awarded best young player. zidane still gets the golden ball. i nominate materazzi for the best actor award.

ruthie, third may be better than second when you are considered the best among the losers.
italy did win 6 out of 7, germany only 5.
as for acting, like jing said, they all do it dahling. i wouldn’t put it past cutie boy podolski or sean penn-klose myself. they had some pretty dives, along with nice ass ballack, in their outings. and don’t forget thierry henry’s dive in their spain-france encounter that earned him a penalty kick. sino pa ba…
blatter is probably sett blatter, fifa president.
as for the rummours na bading ang mga italyano, lumang news na yan. in 1982, the entire team imposed a media blackout in the world cup (which they WON against… gasp.. germany!!!!! am glad harald schumacher saw those THREE goals slide past him after what he did to battiston in the semifinals against… gasp… france!!! baka acting award din bigay mo kay battiston) . the reason for the media blackout was because of all the undue speculation that the team was gay.
i may be missing something here, but i think the factor of culture might explain away a lot of the biases in this forum of comments.

just to defend the beleaguered italy team further, as i really believe they are seriously maligned and misunderstood…
the quality of their goals against germany, which made it past kahn the mighty goalie of 2002, speaks of the strength of the italian offense. grosso’s goal had a sweet touch, curling into the corner… and del piero’s was clinical and superb, showing complete mastery of the ball and of the moment. that it got through one of the best goalies (matanda nga lang) in football history says something.
the goals of italy in the final against france speaks for itself: although the only allowed goal came from a set piece, the ball was in play, there were defenders aside from barthez. the penalty kick by zizou was infinitely easier to do.

and to complete the unfinished thought in my first post, i would simply like to say this: the italians know how to party!!!
forza azzurri!!!
July 11th, 2006 at
clarification lang… italy did not win 6/7 matches… 5/7 lang pala… kasi talo si ghana at draw sila sa USA…
July 11th, 2006 at
hahaha mga bruha talaga! boses laang ni naidoo aking pinagnasaan oi!:p
Joseph aka Sepp Blatter, yep he’s the president of the actors guild este fifa fala

svelte, maraming salamat for the historical background. however, i don’t see where the need for that was. my post was about germany’s being third as being better because, as the videos i included show, they were able to party like this (a big deal if you know the day-to-day german behavior). probably wouldn’t have happened had they ended up as second. yun lang. sa totoo lang, wala akong paki sa past games. i wasn’t even criticizing the italian team, nor was i questioning their win. paki ko, di naman ako sports analyst. my post was just as a result of someone being in the midst of all these celebrations.
as for numbers, germany only lost once, against italy, so it’s 6wins out of 7 games. and the goalie on that game was lehmann, not old kahn.
as for culture explaining the biases, i don’t see where that should play. whose culture? pinoys’? why would pinoys be biased against italians, for heaven’s sake? or do you mean german, since all commenters so far, prior to you, live in germany? baka residence pa, oo. some sense of loyalty to our adoptive countries, oo. but that’s not culture.
but ah, yes. bias. of course i am biased. i never said otherwise.

…sana nakilapirut na rin siya ng nipples, he could have led france to victory.
I wonder how bombarded he is by the press in France?
July 12th, 2006 at
aîe! it’s true that we couldn’t even see France celebrating being the second, parang namatayan nga mga tao sa office the next day e..

thanks for posting all those you tubes! will pass that on to K. he will surely appreciate it–gulat ako what a big WM fan he turned out to be! when his italian friends texted him on sunday night after the azurri’s win, K gamely texted back, “congrats guys, but the real finals was on saturday.” (referring to germany vs portugal match) hahaha.
it’s 1.5 weeks after the end of the WM. grabe, back to normal life ulit. it’s as if the WM did not happen at all. sad!!
oh, siguro biased din ako, pero i agree that materazzi should be nominated for best actor. grr…haha. anyway, this is a link to an article i really appreciated. sorry, ganyan talaga pag biased. hahaha. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/phil_taylor/07/12/zidane/index.html?cnn=yes
