hi ruth!

long time reader, first time writer here...in a desperate effort to wean my 17 mos and 7 day old giant of a suckling, i sought some respite in that wondrous city. in the phils., we'd rather ridiculously wait eternity for a transport mode than walk 500 meters just to spare our travel-pampered derrières from moving but in rome it was different. me and my sister resolved to explore the city on foot with the exceptions of a taxi back and forth to ciampino and a bus to the vatican from via nazzionale. despite tingling and numbness in the extremities at the end of each day, it was such an exhilirating experience also checking out some interesting nooks and alleys not generally touted in the tourism page. and yes, a week isn't long enough to experience its grandeur. viva roma!

you can always take off your shoes and dip them in any of the fountains in Rome...rest for the soles!
