and the countdown begins! less than 3 weeks to wrap up and though we’ve accomplished more tasks than ever before, it seems the list of things-to-do is still a long way from all getting ticked off. but we’re getting there, one task at a time.
quit apartment. check.
quit kindergarten. check.
settle car lease. check.
quit water/electricity. check.
quit ADAC. check.
quit magazine subscriptions. check.
quit telephone.
quit internet.
quit mobile phones.
city de-registration. check.
post office mail forwarding.
get shipment quotes. check.
schedule shipment pick up. check.
pack jan’s stuff. check
pack ruth’s stuff.
pack hubby’s stuff.
pack household stuff.
see ob-gyn. check.
see dentist.
see pedia.
quit health insurance.
organize storage. check.
schedule pick-up of stuff for storage.
organize final garage sale.
schedule pick up of bulky trash.
organize flat renovation/clean-up. check.
pack suitcases.
visa applications. check.
book flights. check.
jan’s kindergarten. check
find flat.
settle.
three weeks. you know that tight feeling you get when the panic surges but you’re desperately trying to push it all back in?

Oh my goodness! You’re almost done ticking off your list. And mind you, that’s a pretty long one.
In a similar situation, there’s also that feeling that you think you’ve done everything and yet you think there’s something that you still need to do… Haay… the anticipation of it all.

yup…am doing the same thing. kaya lang, parang mas marami ka nang nagawa kesa sa akin. nadale ng procrastination kasi spoiled sa packing.
we’re leaving on the 24th, by the way. final na. tuloy na tuloy na talaga…

just a little reminder: city de-registration…does that mean pati kindergeld matitigil na once you leave? sa experience lang from our side, we continuously received it kahit wala na kami diyan kaya ngayon it has to be paid back.

we’re not entitled to kindergeld when we leave. but no, iba pang office yon. kindergeld is with the finanzamt/jugendamt.

yes, i know that feeling….our scheduled pack got cancelled 3x!! They pushed it back to Friday, the 8th…oks lang, at least more time with the TV hehe.
June 24 din ang flight namin…kakatuwa nga eh, kasi sabay kami ni des sa plane…at least hindi ako masyado paranoid…hehe

what a thorough list. my recollection was pinning, procrastinating, chaotic jumble, indecision as what to leave behind and a last minute scramble for umzugskisten on the morning of our move to marburg.
sigh. we’d better be organized the next time.

ruth, di ako nagkamali nang tingin. you really did so much compared to moi hehe. wala, sila kasi lahat mag-pack eh. i packed some things though…pero i had to leave the boxes open for them to kind of go through.
