desperate housewives and pinoy doctors
“Can I just check those diplomas because I just want to make sure that they are not from some med school in the Philippines.”
a guffaw in the script. pinoys roared. the philippine government joined in the squabble. producers of desperate housewives apologized. several blog posts after, issue resolved, case closed.
what still puzzles me is where such a low regard of philippine medical schools come from? is it because of the reputation of the university of recto? the botched nursing exams? or was teri hatcher’s cosmetic surgeon pinoy?

That’s a horrible picture of Teri. She’s usually pretty photogenic
There are so many Filipino doctors and nurses in the US and no matter how professional, caring, capable most of them are, there are bound to be a few bad apples and maybe the DH scriptwriters had the misfortune of running across some. And you know what they say, a customer will remember 1 experience of bad service more clearly than 10 positive experiences…

They wash your clothes, they watch your kids and they treat you when you`re sick. Don mess with Phinos.

I beg your pardon, Tina. I’m a Filipino (get your spelling right) but I don’t wash anybody’s clothes nor watch anybody’s kids than mine. Where I used to live (in Germany), East Europeans seem to be happy to do those for a living, though.
