der nikolaus war in singapur!
nikolaus apparently found our new address and left some goodies on our doorstep!

oranges, chocolates and:

a laser sword, hehe.
our christmas tree is up, too:

am still thinking whether i should put a few more trimmings and ornaments, but i actually rather err on the bare-and-simple than the loud-and-heavy side. it could use a few more gifts at the base, though, but as i’m not yet even halfway with christmas gift shopping… ![]()

uy, ang cute naman ng tree nyo. ako din, i’m leaning to less ornaments this year. red and silver lang ang colors actually. methinks, mas maganda pa talaga pag konti lang. me like yours!
buti ka pa nga, may mga gifts sa ilalim. hehe yung sa amin, later na lang.

einen großen applaus für den nikolaus!
with just right doses of dazzles, i find your tree perfect as it is!
i kind of tire of plastic trees all my life and despite standing logic - striving environmental friendly people that we are, S gave in to my fervent wish of having a pine-scented, really christmas-y living room (napasubo kasi dahil nakabili na ako nang weihnachtsbaumständer sa ebay, hehe). i had to contain my initial dismay for it wasn’t exactly what i had in mind - a midget, 80 cm. nordmann tanne from obi! anoba hanggang beywang ko lang and at 17,199€ at that! wiz daw kasi nya ma-afford the bigger ones. the chinese, australians, some indians and brazilians are jacking up cut tree prices according to some radio report…our tree’s up. small but wonderful!

ay over naman ata ang 17,199€! i meant of course, 17,99€ lang

des, those gifts are jan’s adventskalendar pressies, kaso hindi ko makabit dun sa calendar mismo.
toni, feel nya talaga. there’s a button, too, for sound effects and it drives us nuts!
rhada, cut your own? wow, that’s neat!
mari, syempre, mana-mana lang yan, hehe…
yvette, they sell real trees here too, but to make it last til christmas, we’d have to keep the a/c on 24/7. over! so ayan, after so many years of having real pine, we got ourselves one whose branches had to be screwed together, hehe. i miss the scent, though.

sinterklaas came to us last dec 6 too. next year, in warm manila, we will have to reinvent the beloved traditions of our adopted homeland the last four years.
