luxury resort in bohol
while searching for accommodations for our bohol trip, i came across the eskaya beach resort. see this video and drool (they could have gotten a better voice talent for the annotation, though):
without looking at the website, how much do you think are the nightly rates in one of those villas? clue: the lower-end ones approximate that of the über-exclusive amanpulo in palawan, while the higher end ones are 5x that!

wow, parang gusto ko na tuloy umuwi ng pinas, hehe. yeah, i think they could have gotten a better voice-over talent. i would say, $500-700/night? mas mahal pa ba sila sa amanpulo?? totoo?
when you email them, though, try getting a local rate, kasi baka higher ang rates nila for foreigners or balikbayans.

close, meeya. $425 for the simplest, on lean season, but the higher end villas go up to $2,300 a night on peak season! kahit siguro local rate, hanggang pangarap na lang ako, haha!

I checked the amanpulo rates. Who stays there????? $800 a night? I mean I get the villas, madami kang masiksik dun, tapos may mga infinity pool ekek pa. But amanpulo, maaan. I still can’t buy that even with my dolla-dolla make you holla.
Uy, Ruth, i just watched this program citing Singapore as the happiest southeast-asian country in the world.

as for happy singapore… perhaps, but according to the article:
i think i’d rather the brand of happiness you can find in some rural areas in the third world.

droolfest! maganda na sana yung presentation except for the voice-talent.
$425 a night? does it include the airfare? kung room rate lang, yikes…only in my dreams.

Eskaya? I put that on my “Wishlist”. Super expensive but worth it daw. The owners are trying to pit it against the other uber exclusive resort, Amanpulo.
We’ve been wanting to go to Bohol but my hubby just can’t find the time. In any case, I’ve checked out a relatively affordable hotel/resort. The rates are ok.

ay, i saw that “happiness” show. i liked the ending - sabi parang, although the homeless people in america have better access to food and services, mas masaya pa rin yung mga poor people in india kasi eventhough they live in poverty, their sense of community keeps them happy and positive.
my friend who recently went on her honeymoon sa bohol is suggesting alona tropical. they have poolside suite rooms daw with is good for the whole family. plus, their restaurant is the best on the island.

[...] the chunk of our holiday was spent in panglao island, bohol. i was able to take advantage of cebu pacific’s piso fare promotions, and after scouring the web for accommodation options, i’ve decided on booking us in bohol beach club. and i couldn’t have chosen any better. sure, there’s eskaya and ananyana for those whose prefer luxurious dwellings, but unfortunately, our pockets don’t go so deep. in bohol beach club, we had an awesome powdery white sand beach that was almost 2 km long, with shallow sandy waters that’s safe even for the most mischievous of kids (read: jan). the sprawling resort was so big we hardly felt the presence of other guests (although we were there on a lean season, there were batches of east asian tourists and company retreats). three restaurants plus a bar, three swimming pools, and the long beach for the exclusive use of the resort guests. the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly (altho a tad bit slow sometimes), and the food was good. for those looking for a place in bohol that’s great value for money, i wouldn’t hesitate recommending the bohol beach club, particularly for families with small kids, and those who prefer peace and quiet to clubbing and nightlife. some of my favorite snapshots from bbc: [...]
